What I often get asked

It’s important to me that you feel fully informed and confident when deciding to have me as your therapist.
Browse through the information below, and if you have a question that isn’t included here, feel free to reach out!

How can I schedule a treatment with you?

Your first time? Welcome!

You are invited to explore the programs and treatments and choose the most suitable fit for your needs.

Once payment has been received, I will contact you to schedule our treatment. Be sure to provide your correct contact information so that I can reach you.

Is massage beneficial for everyone and always?

Let me first share a life tip with you:

Do not trust someone who says something is absolutely perfect with no drawbacks. There are no magical solutions.

Research (and my experience, of course) shows that massage treatment has a significant influence on the body; on blood circulation, on the muscles and joints, on the immune system, and on the lymph system.

Due to these effects, there are some cases in which we prefer to avoid receiving a massage:

  • If you are feeling unwell for any reason, a massage treatment might not be the right thing to do. Take a few days to rest and let the body heal without interference.

  • If you underwent a surgical procedure or experienced acute trauma in the past weeks, it's probably best for the body not the have a massage treatment right now. Allow yourself to heal completely.

  • If you are in the first trimester of the pregnancy, the fetus is rapidly growing and evolving, and it carries a higher risk of natural miscarriage. Unless there is a particular reason for massage treatment - we prefer not to intervene with nature's miracle at this point. Once successfully entering the second trimester, you're welcome to enjoy the benefits of the massage without any worries.

Of course, you are welcome to ask me about any particular case you have. Together, we will figure out the best treatment options for you.

What is your Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy?

Time is the most precious resource we have on earth.

After we've scheduled, I will guarantee that time is set aside for you, and I will not accept any other booking requests.

However, it's no secret that life is unpredictable. Plans are constantly changing, and the calendar regularly needs to be adjusted.

With respect to your time, mine, and others - Rescheduling or cancelling appointments must be made at least 24 hours before the treatment. Afterwards, full payment will be required.

This policy allows me to serve my clients better and ensure my time is spent efficiently.

I appreciate and thank your understanding.

What to wear for treatments and how to be prepared?

  • Luckily, you don’t need to wear anything special for any of the treatments. Whatever makes you feel comfortable is the right thing to wear.

  • On a cold day, I recommend dressing appropriately and relatively warmer than usual to avoid getting cold after treatment.

  • You will be asked to remove any jewelry before the treatment, so it may be better for you to leave them at home.

  • It is recommended to arrive at least 2 hours after your last meal to avoid any discomfort or pressure in your stomach.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before our treatment time - that way, you'll have time to relax, and I'll be able to perform a quick checkup at the beginning of the session while still enjoying a full hour of massage.

What should I expect during a massage therapy session?

Before we begin - we will have a small checkup talk so I can carefully adapt the techniques to your individual needs on the same day providing safe and effective treatment.

During the massage, you will lie on a massage bed on your stomach, back, or side. All areas will be covered except the one I'm treating at that moment.

I use sweet almond oil and a custom-made essential oils blend to have a profound effect on muscles, skin and fascia tissues.

During pregnancy, a massage may look and feel different from other massages. You will not lay on your stomach, and the pressure will feel very light. Specific areas of your body will get more attention (like the lower back, the shoulders, and the neck), while others will be deliberately avoided (like the heels and other areas of the legs).

Is it painful?

Medical massage therapy is usually addressing the sore, tight, and stressed parts of the body. Some of the techniques I use may cause some level of discomfort or even slight pain.

The "pain" is considered "positive pain" if you feel it relieves the stress from the tissue. You should not feel too much pain but rather be able to breathe through it.

We will keep an honest and open communication about these sensations during the massage to make sure you are benefiting from it and not suffering from it :)

As mentioned - for prenatal massage, the pressure will is very light and should not hurt at all.

How often should I schedule a massage therapy session?

Most people will benefit from regular massage maintenance (in addition to other well-being routines, of course).

The ultimate frequency of massage therapy sessions can vary depending on your personal needs and goals.

As a rule of thumb, I recommend receiving treatment once every two weeks. This will allow the body to enjoy the accumulated benefits of the massage, and you will soon experience gradual pain relief and relaxation.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept Zelle, Venmo, cash and Wire transactions
